Yoga Wall Ireland is delighted to host Master Instructor Petra Mitidieri this coming April for a weekend of workshops in Yoga4all Swords Dublin.
Choose from participating in one, two or all three of the workshops.
Petra has been practising yoga since 1996 and has been teaching yoga in London since 2000. Over the years she has studied Iyengar and Ashtanga yoga, the two styles on which she bases her teaching. Petra is also a certified yoga therapist by the International Association of Yoga Therapists (IAYT) specialising in musculo-skeletal problems (bulging discs, scoliosis, knee injuries, etc.) as well as diseases of the organic system (asthma, bronchitis, diabetes, acid reflux, constipation, IBS, high blood pressure, low blood pressure). She teaches alignment based yoga, Ashtanga Vinyasa yoga, restorative yoga as well as pregnancy/postnatal yoga

This workshop will focus on Lower Back Health.
We will explore common conditions such as sciatica, bulging/herniated discs and psoas tension. Understanding movement patterns that contribute to discomfort and the yoga therapy approach to symptom alleviation and long term resilience.
We will include therapeutic sequencing on the mat and supported decompression, traction and strengthening work using the Yoga Wall.
Participants will gain tools to safely adapt their yoga practice for themselves or students experiencing lower back discomfort.

Neck and upper back health :
This workshop explores the cervical and thoracic spine with particular attention to modern postural challenges.
We will look at common tension patterns "text neck" and the interrelationship between shoulders, breath and spinal health working on ways to restore mobility and reduce discomfort. Working with mat based mobility and strengthening work, yoga wall supported traction and postural re-education.

Intelligent Backbending : Strength, Mobility and Safe Progression
We will work on preparatory movements on the mat, progressive stages of backbends and the use of the Yoga Wall to access deeper extensions with greater safety, support and awareness.
We will also explore the role of thoracic mobility and hip flexor length, core and posterior chain strength as pre-requisites for safe backbending.
